The Big Move
When a homeschooled teen moves to southern California for her first year of public high school, she ends up reuniting with her old friends who moved there, too. But, one of them tends to be hiding a secret that would break a friendship if exposed. When the truth is revealed, this spaniel finds her way to stand out in her new school and learns how some friendships can't always bond.
She's a fifteen-year old pup with great spirit. Sophie grew up homeschooled in New Jersey for most of her life, but she and her parents moved to southern California for her sophomore year of high school. Coincidentally, two of her friends have also moved there prior, and Sophie couldn't be happier to move there, too. After an act of betrayal by one of her said old friends, she gets a huge makeover aimed to impress the best. Prior to her move, Sophie was socially awkward and very sensitive, but after her makeover she gets a surge of confidence, determined to make it through the ups and downs of high school.

Brittany LaTour
She was one of Sophie's original best friends. Brittany was no different from Sophie prior to moving, although she did attend regular school and learned how to maneuver through school-age cliques. After Brittany moved away to California for 7th grade, she was taken in by the popular posse. Over time, she grew more self-conscious and eventually put the past behind her until Sophie arrived. Brittany tries to avoid exposing their history to the populars, but ends up bending the truth to salvage her status. Throughout the series she must make a bold decision in a battle between friendship and dignity.

Courtany Taylor
She was another one of Sophie's original best friends. Despite moving to California along with Brittany for 7th grade, Courtany's caring nature never changed, so the reunion with Sophie went pretty smooth without a hitch. But it was difficult for her to explain that Brittany left the trio for the populars, as she felt the same stabs of betrayal years before. She has younger twin sisters who cling to her so excessively that she is always up to getting active outside the house.
She is a brand new friend in Sophie and Courtany's group. After Brittany decided to abandon Courtany for the populars, Savannah stepped in as a replacement. She's a bit shy, somewhat peppy, and is determined to help Sophie make a smooth transition from homeschooling to public schooling. No matter what the situation is, Savannah's always up for helping others in need.

She is the meanest and most popular girl at Sophie's new high school. Katherine is an overachieving fashion critic, and isn't afraid to crumble someone's reputation based on their taste in clothes. Once Sophie rolls in with a new look, Katherine fears that this new girl will overthrow her status and crown, not to mention jeopardizing her two-year relationship with her hot boyfriend. Out of jealousy. she will stop at nothing to get her revenge, and often gets her best friend to do the dirty work to avoid breaking her newly-manicured nails.

She is Katherine's follower and sole confidante. Lisa was Katherine's best friend from the start, but along the way she was eventually downgraded to a minion. Don't let her dainty manners fool you: she may be flirtatious and flashy in the public eye, but she's got the muscles of a male great dane! However, they're only utilized when Katherine calls for an order of tail-kicking attacks to her targets. Why Lisa remains loyal to this cold-hearted feline is currently unknown, but maybe there's more to the duo's story than meets the eye....

He is Flynn's second-in-command in the football team. Despite his position, not much is known about Ethan when it comes to getting to know him outside of football. Some say he's weird and mysterious, but he truly cares about the welfare of his relationships, romantic or otherwise. Ever since freshman year, he's had a huge puppy crush on Katherine, but sadly never had a chance since she was already with Flynn. Now that Sophie has arrived, Ethan may just have a chance at love after all....
